I see what you mean about the color repeats on the socks. I think they turned out really cool, though. I'd be curious to see how it knits up over a large number of stitches, say for a jacket or lap blanket.

I especially liked the suggestions on the various uses of markers. I have a suggestion for you: I bought a package of rubber O rings in assorted sizes. Hmmm...they would be great markers and I would be able to find a size to fit any size knitting needle! And they are cheap, cheap, cheap! I wouldn't need to fear losing any of them!

I've been known to use coil-less safety pins for stitch markers as well. I get a large quantity of them and use them for, well, practically everything. I never thought about the rubbery rings. And your surprise was lovely. It made my entire day.
